Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 28, 2026

Talus is a rock & crystal identifier for iPhone, published by WebKoding ([email protected]). We built it to be private by default. There is no account, no login, and we run no advertising and no cross-app tracking.

What stays on your device

Your saved collection — the stones you identify, their photos, your notes — lives on your device (and, if you enable it, your own private iCloud). We never receive or store your collection.

Identifying a stone

To identify a photo, the app sends that single image to our identification service, which uses a third-party AI vision model to recognise the stone and return its details. The photo is used only for that identification and is not retained afterwards. An anonymous device identifier is sent so we can apply the free daily limit and prevent abuse — it is not linked to your identity and is not used for advertising.

Purchases

The optional Talus Pro purchase is handled entirely by Apple's App Store. We never see your payment information. We use Adapty for purchase analytics, which receives purchase events and a device identifier — never your photos or collection.

What we do not do

Your rights

Your collection stays in your control: edit or delete any item in the app, or delete the app to remove everything from your device. For any support correspondence, WebKoding is the data controller; in the EU/EEA or UK you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Not a professional service

Talus is an informational tool for collectors and the curious. Identifications are best-effort and not a substitute for professional appraisal or safety decisions.

This website

This website (talus.webkodingtheme.com) uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits, to see which pages and referring sites bring people here, and to record when a visitor taps through to the App Store. It collects the page viewed, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and the referring site. IP addresses are anonymised, and Google advertising signals and ad personalisation are switched off — this data is never used to build an advertising profile and is never joined to anything you do inside the app. See Google’s privacy policy. This section covers the website only; how the app itself handles your data is described above.
